Los Angeles FC scored twice in the first half for a 2-0 win Wednesday night against visiting Minnesota United at Banc of California Stadium.
Eduard Atuesta and Mark-Anthony Kaye scored LAFC’s goals in the 31st and 37th minutes, respectively. Minnesota struggled to create chances and picked up seven yellow cards throughout the match. The official handed Atuesta LAFC’s sole yellow card in the 40th minute.
LAFC (6-2-1, 19 points) is second in the Western Conference, while Minnesota (4-6-0, 12 points) sits in fifth place. Both now face quick turnarounds with matches this weekend as well. The Loons host the San Jose Earthquakes at 2 p.m. Saturday. LAFC hosts NYCFC at 8:30 p.m. ET Sunday.
