Here are three things we learned from the LA Galaxy’s 3-2 loss to FC Dallas:
Ibrahimović voices frustration
During the game, Zlatan Ibrahimović channeled his frustration outwardly by waving his arms and yelling at teammates on the field. His postgame comments mirrored his frustration, but directed his comments more at the coaching decisions rather than at his teammates.
“In offensive and defensive way, we are a little bit lost in the positions we are playing because we are not organized,” Ibrahimović said. “It is difficult to play like that, because as soon as we play against a team that is a little bit organized, they punish you because they are more organized, obviously. It doesn’t matter how much quality you have because it’s a collective game, it’s not individual. The collective needs to work for the individual to work. And now, it’s not working 100 percent and we are conceding too many goals. Too many easy goals, and we need to work on that.”

The pattern returns
Any sort of confidence the team built over its last two winning games was lost in the match against FC Dallas. The Galaxy once again allowed three goals in a match.
“It followed a pattern that we had prior to the last two games,” Schmid said. “We’re a team that’s always going to find goals. We found goals. We probably should have found more goals in the second half. It’s a lot easier to find goals when you’re playing at 0-0 than it is to find goals when you’re down by two or three. Just the performance, defensively, was not acceptable.”
In need of stability
The team has been struggling with the task of constantly adjusting its lineup week to week, and has only once been able to start the same XI in two consecutive games. This match saw the Dos Santos brothers unavailable due to international duty, as well as player rotation due to four league matches within a 12-day span.
“It’s tough. I know there has been different lineups and injuries, but there is no excuse,” midfielder Sebastian Lletget said. “I think collectively we need to come together, we have to make it work and we have to start in Portland.”
The Galaxy play Portland at 5 p.m. ET Saturday.
