Larrys Mabiala scored his second goal of the night in the 74th minute to break a tie and ultimately hand the Portland Timbers a 3-2 win Saturday night in Seattle. The goal was the last of five combined goals in the second half after a scoreless first 45. It also marked Diego Valeri’s third assist of the match.
Seattle’s Chad Marshall powered in a header to equalize the match in the 68th minute after a goal from Samuel Armenteros put the Timbers up 2-1 in the 57th minute.

Moments earlier, a pair of headers had the score even at 1-1. First, Mabiala leapt in the air to get his head on a corner kick from Valeri and rifle the ball into the net. Three minutes later, Victor Rodriguez raced toward goal and pushed his head into a bounced cross from teammate Nicolas Lodeiro to put Seattle on the board.
