Rapper T-Pain to perform National Anthem at MLS All-Star game

Grammy Award-winning artist T-Pain will perform the National Anthem at the MLS All-Star Game Aug. 1 in Atlanta. 

The MLS All-Stars will face Serie A legend Juventus in the All-Star game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The match will be televised in more than 170 countries across the world.

T-Pain, 32, a Tallahassee, Fla., native and Atlanta resident, and has lent his voice and production skills to more than 60 hit songs. He is a 12-time Grammy nominee, winning best rap song in 2008 for “Good Life,” a collaboration with Kanye West, and best R&B performance by a duo or group in 2010 for “Blame It” with Jamie Foxx. He released his latest album, Oblivion, in November.

“I am honored to perform the National Anthem to kick off the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target,” T-Pain said in a statement release Friday by the league. “Thank you to Major League Soccer, the city of Atlanta, and all the fans.”
