ATLANTA — Saturday’s MLS Cup kicked off with seven-year-old Malea Emma, who turned heads with her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Fans in the packed Mercedes-Benz Stadium, players on the field and even reporters in the typically-quiet press box looked at each other with jaws dropped each time Emma threw her hands in the air and belted out the notes.
Emma previously sang the anthem at a Sept. 23 LA Galaxy game against the Seattle Sounders, which put her on the national radar and landed her the gig to perform in front of the record crowd in Atlanta. Watch her MLS Cup performance above.
