Wayne Rooney scored three goals for the first time in his Major League Soccer career during D.C. United’s Saturday-night stomping of Real Salt Lake.
Rooney found the back of the net in minutes 34, 41 and 65, then assisted teammate Lucas Rodriguez’s 76th-minute goal before Ulises Segura netted goal No. 5 to cap the shutout.
