ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Pride’s 4-3 loss to the North Carolina Courage last month was weird, to say the least. The first half of the match was the worst the Pride have ever played, coach Tom Sermanni said. Not just the worst the club has played this season. The worst 45 minutes ever from […]

For most of the night, the Pride looked the better side. They scored the first goal, dominated possession and created a multitude of chances. None of […]
Through 13 matches so far this season, the Orlando Pride haven’t yet played – by coach Tom Sermanni’s standards – a complete match. The Pride (6-3-4, 22 points) are in second place in the NWSL and are getting strong individual performances from various players, which is why Sermanni is having some trouble pinpointing exactly why […]
Orlando Pride midfielder Alanna Kennedy’s sensational goal from near the halfway line was the second jaw-dropping goal from distance the Pride have scored this season. The Orlando Pride held on for a 1-0 road win over the Washington Spirit Saturday, extending the team’s road unbeaten streak to six matches. Here are three things we learned from the Pride victory. Orlando Pride midfielder Alanna Kennedy apologized to coach Tom Sermanni after what she considered a sub-par first half last week. Kennedy was slightly sluggish and managed to pick up the pace during the second half of a win over Sky Blue FC. Seven days later, Kennedy showed Sermanni she was ready to play with much […]
The Orlando Pride haven’t had much trouble putting the ball in the back of the net lately. After a slow start, the Pride (5-3-4, 19 points) are second in the NWSL in goals scored with 19 and have scored multiple goals in four of their last five matches. Orlando had just one multi-goal game through […]
For Orlando Pride coach Tom Sermanni, the 2018 World Cup in Russia is refreshing. He didn’t have high hopes for the 32-team competition before it got started. “To be honest, I felt the last two World Cups were a little bit bland, whereas the games so far [this year] have all been really competitive,” he […]
The Orlando Pride’s 3-2 victory over Sky Blue FC was a strange one for Australian midfielder Alanna Kennedy. The normally-sound distributor had a rough first half. Early on, she waited in the middle third for a ball from Emily van Egmond to come to her, and while she waited, Imani Dorsey pounced and started the […]
