When New York City FC winger Jonathan Lewis earned his first international call-up in January, he figured the communication from U.S. Soccer while on vacation was fantasy. Less stunning was the news released today that Lewis and his club teammate Sean Johnson have both been summoned to their second straight camp by U.S. Men’s National […]

BRONX, N.Y. — The lack of scoring in Sunday’s stalemate between D.C. United and New York City FC did not deprive spectators of highlights. The two goalkeepers — both also in the United States national team pool — stole the show. NYCFC’s Sean Johnson and United’s Bill Hamid saved shot after shot, one-upping each other […]
BRONX, N.Y. — Sean Johnson and Bill Hamid each put on a goalkeeping clinic as New York City FC and D.C. United played to a 0-0 draw at Yankee Stadium Sunday afternoon. NEW YORK — The plan for Yangel Herrera was a shift of 50-70 minutes in his first start since sustaining a severe ankle injury May 25 against the Houston Dynamo – an injury accompanied by the premature announcement that his season was over. Instead, the Venezuelan international played the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s 3-1 […]
While Ben Olsen said he’ll sip on a bourbon to celebrate a D.C. United playoff birth, New York City FC coach Dome Torrent might be raiding his liquor cabinet for less favorable reasons following another murky road act. City has just one victory in its last nine matches after dropping a 3-1 decision to United […]
