Three things we learned from Columbus Crew SC’s 3-2 win over Montreal Impact.

  1. The old guys still got it. Federico Higuain scored in his second straight game, and Ignacio Piatti willed the Impact back into the match. These veterans aren’t going anywhere.
  2. It’s not over until it’s over. Never count Crew SC out of a game. After blowing a 2 goal lead at home, it would be easy to think that the momentum against them would be too much to overcome. Somehow the squad found a way, drawing a stoppage time penalty to secure a 3-2 victory.
  3.  Zardes is back. Gyasi Zardes became the first player in Crew SC history to score in his first two games with the club. His brace against the Impact means he’s already surpassed his goal total from all of last season. The striker is a legitimate contender for the Golden Boot.
