Ibrahimović signed a contract “through the end of the 2019 season that will pay him $1.5 million per year, the maximum allowed for a contract using Targeted Allocation Money,” according to Sports Illustrated.
The striker, who has been dealing with a knee injury, made few appearances for Manchester United this season. His contract expires in June.
Reports of a possible move to the Galaxy surfaced months ago. Earlier Thursday, ESPN reported that Ibrahimović, 36, played his last game for United and a move to MLS was imminent.
Ibrahimović joined Manchester United in 2016 from Paris Saint-Germain. He scored 28 goals in 46 appearances during his first season before suffering a knee injury early last year. He has 29 total goals in 53 appearances, his last being Dec. 26, when he substituted off during halftime of a match against Burnley.
