New York is red! At least for now, as the New York Red Bulls pummeled New York City FC 4-0 Saturday afternoon to win Major League Soccer’s Hudson River Derby. Goals came early at Red Bull Arena, with two in the first four minutes from Alejandro Romero “Kaku” Gamarra and Florian Valot. Bradley Wright-Phillips made it 3-0 just before halftime, and substitute Derrick Etienne Jr. added the final blow in minute 79.

The result helped the Red Bulls (5-3-0, 15 points) to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. It also put No. 1 NYCFC (6-2-2, 20 points) at risk of being toppled by No. 2 Atlanta United (6-1-1, 19 points) if the Five Stripes win their 8:30 p.m. ET road match against the Chicago Fire. Take a look at pictures in the gallery above and highlights below from the Hudson River Derby, and check back for a full recap.
