Preview: LA Galaxy travel to Houston to take on the Dynamo

For their first game of a three-game road trip, the LA Galaxy travel to Houston to take on the Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium Saturday at 5:30pm PT. The LA Galaxy are 10-9-7 all time against the Houston Dynamo, and 5-6-3 away to Houston.

Injuries continue to be a common theme for the LA Galaxy, and because of that they’ve had to adjust to players coming in and out of the line up. Midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos is considered questionable for this match while recovering from a strained calf. It’s possible he serves as a second-half substitute for LA.

Last week’s 3-2 loss at home to the New York Red Bulls put a sour taste in the team’s mouth, and players are looking to bounce back with a win against Houston. All three teams the Galaxy will face on the upcoming three-game road trip are Western Conference opponents, so each game could make a big difference in the standings. LA will play FC Dallas on May 12 and the Montreal Impact on May 21st.

Defense has become a concern for the Galaxy, as they have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five games. While much of the focus is on their new superstar striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the team will have a hard time winning games if they continue to allow goals that frequently.
