New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe is drawing some attention from abroad.
An Israeli Premier League team expressed interest in the Revs midfielder late last week through an intermediary after monitoring his play in both Major League Soccer and with the United States national team.
However, no offer was made for Rowe because of a failure to agree on terms, a source told Pro Soccer USA.
When asked about the overseas interest in Rowe, a Revolution spokeswoman told Pro Soccer USA the club does not comment on rumors.
New England acquired Rowe in 2012 with the third overall pick in the Superdraft. They granted him a three-year contract extension in September 2016, though it’s possible the third year is an option.
Rowe makes $258,000 in guaranteed compensation, according to the MLS Players Union. The Federal Way, Wash., native has recorded 28 goals and 40 assists in 190 appearances with the Revolution.
The unnamed side’s interest in Rowe comes roughly one year after the Revolution rejected a $1 million offer for Lee Nguyen from Maccabi Haifa, also a team in the Israeli Premier League. The Revs have since traded Nguyen to Los Angeles FC.
