Megan Rapinoe allowed American soccer fans to breath a little easier Thursday, when she scored in the third minute to give the United States women’s national team a quick 1-0 lead over Mexico during the teams’ opening match of the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship. The top three teams at the end of the tournament will advance to next year’s World Cup in France. Fourth place will compete in a playoff match against Argentina for a bid.
