LOS ANGELES — The LA Galaxy have hired Dennis te Kloese as the club’s new general manager, club sources told Pro Soccer USA Tuesday morning. An introductory news conference is scheduled for later this afternoon.
Te Kloese joins the Galaxy after several years with the Mexico Football Federation, where he was the director of youth teams prior to being promoted to the director of Mexican national teams of all levels.
Last month, MLSsoccer.com reported the Galaxy were close to hiring te Kloese, and that buzz escalated after te Kloese was seen at Monday night’s LA Lakers game with Galaxy president Chris Klein and coaching candidate Caleb Porter. Previously, interim head coach Dominic Kinnear was the front runner for the position, but the outing suggested otherwise.
Hey LA Galaxy fans: Dennis Te Kloese and former Timbers coach Caleb Porter have been courtside at the Lakers game with Dan Beckerman and Chris Klein. H/T to Oregon folk hero @billoram for recognizing Porter.

The lA Times’ Kevin Baxter reported on social media that Porter may be announced as the new head coach later this week, but the deal is not 100 percent done. “But it’s very close,” he wrote.
new general manager Dennis Te Kloese later this morning. And Caleb Porter could be confirmed as the new coach later this week. The Porter thing is the only one that is not 100% done. But it's very close. @LAGalaxy (2/2)
