Orlando Pride and United States women’s national team forward Alex Morgan has another title to add her ever-growing list: Titan.
Time Magazine named Morgan, 29, to its list of 100 most influential people of 2019. The list is split into pioneers, artists, leaders, icons and titans.
Morgan, who is introduced at Pride home games as “boss” and recently scored her 100th international goal with the women’s national team, is under the “titan” category. She is in that group with the likes of Egyptian star Mo Salah, who currently plays for English Premier League side Liverpool, NBA megastar LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and golf giant Tiger Woods.

Women’s soccer icon Mia Hamm wrote Morgan’s entry for the list and called her “fast, strong and fearless.”
“I feel great about the future of our sport because Alex is leading the way,” Hamm wrote about Morgan. “From a young age, she’s someone who embraced her ability to connect with her fans and generate more excitement for her team and the sport. That was not always easy for me, and Alex makes it look effortless. Off the field, she and her teammates are also leading the charge for more equitable pay and support from U.S. Soccer, in order to provide continued opportunities for young girls who love the sport.
“As the mother of 12-year-old twin daughters, I fully understand the impact that Alex makes on this next generation of young girls. Her commitment to set such a positive example for them is unmatched, and I am incredibly grateful that the future of our game is in such good hands.”
Morgan will be an integral part of the United States’ attack in the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
The Pride play the North Carolina Courage at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday in Cary, N.C.
