CINCINNATI — The U.S. men’s national dropped their final Gold Cup tune-up match 3-0 to Venezuela on Sunday afternoon at the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium.
The match was the first in the Queen City for the men’s national team after three previous visits from the women’s program. But after conceding a trio of first-half goals, even positive tactical changes from second-half substitutes weren’t enough to overturn the deficit.
Following Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Jamaica, the U.S. has now gone scoreless during its past two matches and will have to find a spark before the Gold Cup kicks off next week in Minnesota.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
