“The Impact would like to thank Harry Novillo for his services and wish him good luck,” reads an official statement from the club.
The former Lyon academy product’s contract will count on Montreal’s salary cap. The Impact had already used their allotted annual contract buyout for 2019. The club bought out Canadian international Michael Petrasso in January. However, terminating Novillo’s contract frees up an international spot on the roster.
Novillo had a base salary of $550,000 with a guaranteed compensation raising his earnings to $616,667, according to the MLS Players Union.
Novillo joined the Impact in December 2018. The Martinique international signed a two-year deal with an option year which involved targeted allocation money.
