Real Salt Lake bolstered their forward line Thursday night with the addition of 18-year-old Jeizon Ramirez.
Ramirez comes to the Western Conference side as a young designated player from Deportivo Tachira FC in the first division in Venezuela.
“Jeizon is a dynamic attacking player with a nose for goal and a playmaking ability to create for his teammates,” RSL General Manager Elliot Fall said. “He is already an experienced professional and can help our team immediately, but at just 18 years old, has tremendous capacity to develop. We are excited to see what he will be able to do under the tutelage of our staff and development structure.”
The new RSL attacker has played at the professional level since he was 16, and during his time with Tachira, he helped it qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
Earlier this offseason, the Claret and Cobalt sold Jefferson Savarino, who came to the club from the top tier in Venezuela, to Atletico Mineiro in Brazil.
There are now seven forwards on the RSL roster, including 2018 Rookie of the Year Corey Baird, Sam Johnson and Douglas Martinez.
